Kate talks about.... MTV Movie Awards 2012!

On Sunday last, the 3rd of June, the 2012 MTV Movie Awards were held in LA and all of the big movie stars in the world gathered together for a more light and comical movie awards ceremony.  It was hosted by Russell Brand who I was only too happy to watch! :) Here are the winners of the bigger categories and my thoughts on them!
MOVIE OF THE YEAR: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1
Wasn't particularly pleased about this one as it wasn't a good movie in my opinion.  Harry Potter, The Hunger Games or even Bridesmaids should have won it because I enjoyed watching these movies more.  I feel as though people only vote for Twilight because of their "love" for Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.  Don't get me wrong, I like these movies and I've read all of the books but out of them all, this was probably the worst one.
BEST FEMALE PERFORMANCE: Jennifer Lawrence- The Hunger Games
Was absolutely delighted when Jennifer won this as she is one of the most talented actresses in Hollywood and she is the perfect Katniss.  She portrayed her perfectly and no one else would have done it better!
BEST MALE PERFORMANCE: Josh Hutcherson- The Hunger Games
Again was very pleased with this as Josh is a great up and coming actor (even though he has been acting since he was nine) and his performance in the movie was great.  Even though he isn't physically what we imagined Peeta to be, he portrayed his emotions well :)
BEST KISS: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart- The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1
To be honest I really wanted either Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson or Emma Watson and Rupert Grint to win this award because I am a huge fan of both The Hunger Games and Harry Potter but I have to admit, that kiss was pretty epic!
BEST CAST: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2- Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Ralph Fiennes and Tom Felton
Was absolutely DELIGHTED that they won best cast because this is probably the most well known cast of all time and they thoroughly deserved this after ten years of making these astounding movies!
BEST TRUE TRAILBLAZER: Emma Stone
I have to tell you I didn't know what a trailblazer was before this award but in this context I think (hopefully!) it means someone who keeps their fans guessing on what genre of movie they star in and someone who connects with the audience in their movies.  I think Emma is a worth winner of this award as she is a comedic yet serious actress who could star in just about anything and do it perfectly!  Well done Emma! :)
GENERATION AWARD: Johnny Depp
First of all I would just like to point out that Johnny Depp is my all-time favourite actor.  He is just so talented and can portray an array of different characters who are nothing alike but can own them and be them.  He isn't just an actor of one genre but many including comedic, serious, romantic etc.  He takes risks with all of his movies and stars in them because he is interested in the character and not because he thinks the audience might or might not like it.  This is why he has won the Generation Award and also because he has spent half of his life acting which has made a huge contribution to the movie world.  A deserving recipient and I couldn't be happier!

OTHER WINNERS OF THE NIGHT:
BEST GUT-WRENCHING PERFORMANCE: Bridesmaids- Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper.
BEST FIGHT: Jennifer Lawrence & Josh Hutcherson vs. Alexander Ludwig- The Hunger Games.
